You don't ever want to be compared to Wally Pipp. He was the Yankees first baseman before Lou Gehrig. Gehrig famously replaced Pipp in the lineup at the beginning of his 2,130 consecutive games streak.
That's exactly what Bill Belichick did to Wes Welker after then rookie Julian Edelman returned a punt for a touchdown. Welker wasn't in the lineup that day and Belichick walked right up to Welker and savagely told him that he just lost his job.
Welker would later be replaced by Edelman as the Patriots fast white receiver...

What a clip. Belichick is just roaming the sidelines with his boulders dragging the ground. He knew with Welker's response that Edelman was his guy.
