Was the Shirtless Proposal at the Islanders Game Fake?

On Thursday night, at a game between the Islanders and Panthers, a fan stripped off his shirt and proposed to his girlfriend. She said no and the internet is still debating whether it was a real moment, or whether it was a fully staged stunt to go viral and get people debating whether it was real.

I am of the school of thought that it was fake, because even if it was a real proposal, the objective was to go viral and that takes away from the love and romance between two people deciding to spend their lives togetehr.

I don't think anything is real, especially viral moments on the internet. It's just a group of clout chasers trying to make their mark on the culture as easily as they can and sporting proposal rejections is obviously a solid way to do that. The fact that his shirt was off during the proposal, to draw even more attention to himself is a pretty clear sign that even if it was real, he definitely deserved the "no" he got.

According to the NY POST, an eye witness said that after the rejection, the woman ran out without her purse and that the embarrassed man was seen tearing up before following his woman.

Fake or not, everyone loves a good proposal video, even one that ends in rejection in front of tens of thousands of people!
