Vikings safety Harrison Smith was ejected from Sunday's game against the Texans for a big helmet-to-helmet shot on tight end Jordan Akins. The hit didn't just end Smith's day, Akins ended up in the concussion protocol.
You definitely can't launch yourself headfirst into an opponent, especially if that opponent is attempting to catch a pass.

I'm not sure what anyone attempting to defend this hit is thinking. It's pretty clear that the NFL doesn't want to see these kinds of brain damaging shots.
