Tom Brady Signs a Four-Year Extension With the Buccaneers

You read that right, the 43-year-old Tom Brady signed a four-year extension with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  But it's not exactly what it sounds like.

The four-year extension voids to a one-year extension and keeps Brady in Tampa until 2022.

Tom Brady reached agreement with the Buccaneers today on a four-year contract extension that voids to a one-year extension that locks him into Tampa through the 2022 season, sources tell ESPN.

The move defrays cost and clears $19 million in cap space this season.  Brady wants to make another run at a Super Bowl with as much of last year's team as possible.

Moves like this one are the reason he has seven rings kids.  The most important thing to him is winning.  He has at least two more seasons to add to the trophy case.
