Tom Brady is in the playoffs once again, eyeing number 8. But when the postseason dust settles he could call it quits. According to reports, Brady plans to take at least a month after the season to decide on his future.
It doesn't sound like the 44-year-old has given any hints about whether he'll return next season or not.
From ESPN:
Sources with the Bucs and close to Brady all recognize the star quarterback remains noncommittal to playing beyond this season. Although Brady could decide to play again -- he has talked about playing until he was 45, and even beyond -- it is currently far from a given, sources told ESPN.
Brady's departure is a topic that quietly has come up within the Tampa Bay organization for weeks now, and there has been internal uncertainty about what the future holds for the seven-time Super Bowl champion and all-time NFL passing leader.
At this point Brady can do whatever he wants. He won six Super Bowls in New England, left for Tampa Bay, won another one.
Brady's got nothing left to prove. He's the best to ever do it and it's not even close.
