University of Toledo defensive lineman Jahneil Douglas was shot outside of a resturaunt in central Toledo following a fight between two men on Tuesday night.

The 22-year-old junior died at the hospital from the gunshot wounds.  There is reportedly surveillance video near where the shooting took place.

From WTOL11:

The shooting happened outside Gino's Pizza on Monroe near Central around 11:30 p.m.

Detectives say there was a fight outside the restaurant between two men when shots were fired.

Douglas was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Police say casings were found scattered in the parking lot and at least one car was hit by gunfire.

The restaurant has video surveillance near where the shooting happened. There is no word on any arrests as of yet.

Toledo's head coach Jason Candle confirmed the death of Douglas by releasing a statement on the unfortunate shooting.

What a tragedy.  A disagreement rarely needs a gun to be resolved, but they're used far too often.

Hopefully whoever shot and killed Douglas is found and justice is served.
