Say what you want to about Theo Epstein, the dude is a franchise fixer. He ended the Red Sox and the Cubs curses by building teams that did nothing but win.
The sad Mets are a franchise in need of saving. Unfortunately for fans Epstein isn't putting the cape back on to save the Mets. They need a president of baseball operations and he had talks with owner Steve Cohen and turned it down.
News: Theo Epstein will not be coming to the Mets. A source familiar with situation tells me “Steve and Theo spoke. They had a good conversation and both agreed that this was not the right opportunity.” Story up soon.

Both agreed? Please. If Cohen agreed then he's a bigger idiot than we already know. Epstein took a look at the Mets situation, talked to the owner and turned it down.
At least the Yankees lost the play in game.
