Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is bringing the XFL new life as his team purchased the league from Vince McMahon who tried to revive it in 2020 pre Pandemic, based on his 2001 concept of an alternative football legue in mid-city markets.
They paid 15 million for the league and today, they announced the 8 teams that they are starting with for this upcoming season in February 2023.
Three of the teams are staying from the 2020 version of the league and they are D.C. Defenders, Houston Roughnecks and St. Louis Battlehawks. So their fans won't need to buy new merch for the games.
The Renegades are moving to Arlington Texas from Dallas, but keeping their name. The Seatle Dragons are renaming themselves to the Sea Dragons and the Orlando Guardians, San Antonio Brahmas and Vegas Vipers round up the league.
