The name Washington Football Team isn't going away anytime soon.  In fact according to team president Jason Wright, the generic name could still be in use next season.

Wright says there are a lot of steps in the branding process and it's not likely that the Washington Football Team's new brand will be ready by next season.

From ABC7:

“I think next year is fast because of how the brand has to come together through uniforms, through approval processes through the league," Wright said. "Next year is fast. There is a pretty good chance we will still be the Washington Football Team next season. We could get there quicker, it’s actually pretty hard to get there that quickly because of all the steps that need to happen.”

Wright encourages fans to log onto the washingtonjourney.com website. There is a timeline on there about the journey the franchise is on and where some of the big milestones will be coming down the path.

It's perfect.  If we know anything about this franchise it's that they will screw the simplest things up.

The fact that they're so dysfunctional will only add more time to the entire process.  Who knows maybe they'll be the Washington Football Team for the rest of their existence.

All we do know is that changing their name to the Washington Football Team solved all of the world's problems.
