The Cleveland Indians will reportedly be dropping their nickname. There's no word on what the franchise plans to change their name to, but they will no longer be called the Indians.
The move comes after the Washington Redskins changed their name this off-season to the Washington Football Team. Cleveland could announce their new name as early as this week.
Sources confirm the @nytmike and @DavidWaldstein report that the Cleveland Indians will be dropping their nickname. While it's unclear what they will replace it with, the Indians -- who have been called that for more than a century and nearly 17,000 games -- will be no more.

If they go with the Cleveland Baseball Team they should be kicked out of the league. That's an amateur move made by a terribly run franchises. If you're going to change your name you should have a new one picked out first.
