COLLEGE
Tex Hollywood - March 21, 2025
The Cavinder Twins are some of the more hyped, at least on social media, College basketball players in their Van Wilder year.
They took a year off, because they graduated, but thanks to a Covid Loophole, they were granted another year of play, which they decided to do back in Miami.
The idea is that they will be drafted to the WNBA, which unlike traditional athletics, is going to amplify their social media deals.
What we mean is that the WNBA notoriously pays the pro athletes a living wage, but they might as well work at McDonalds on Minimum Wage. The idea is that they'll shine in the league and secure sponsorships.
Where as the Cavinder twins already have a solid social media feed, they have non-stop ad partners paying them 10-20k per post, but that's flimsy.
No influencers get longterm athlete contracts, so it's a scramble each month to find new partners.
Add a WNBA career, and all the instagram deals become athlete sponsorships for 2-4 years, and they are likely more lucrative and better designed.
So along with the instagram hustling, they've got the pro athlete hook, making them out to be not just another fitness / influencer on instagram pushing fake views, but credible and legitimate.
The good news, they still post thirst traps and clickbait, usually showing off their "leg day" or fitness journey, posing with glute flexes, and it's pretty great.
