The Browns cut Jarvis Landry last week to free up cap space. But now, after adding Deshaun Watson and Amari Cooper, they want him back.
Landry isn't the only star they want back on the roster. They're also trying to bring back Jadeveon Clowney. They believe they have the cap space to do so after restructuring Cooper's contract.
From Cleveland.com:
On Saturday, they restructured the contract of receiver Amari Cooper to clear about $15 million in cap space, which gives them more room to try to re-sign Landry, a five-time Pro Bowler, and Clowney, a three-time Pro Bowler, league sources told cleveland.com.
The Browns, who are going all in to try to win a Super Bowl this season, would love to have both players back, and it’s much more likely now.
It sounds like Landry might have been tired of playing with Baker Mayfield. He won't have to worry about that now. Cleveland is pushing all of their chips to the middle of the table.
