August isn't the time of year to be playing umpire games in the middle of real meaningful games. These substance checks between innings have been a complete disaster.
Giving umpires, who are looking for any reason to toss players, the authority to check for substances between innings is one of the dumbest things I've ever heard of. But the MLB likes dumb shit.
Last night in Chicago, White Sox pitcher Lance Lynn was ejected by a soft umpire because he didn't like the way the right-hander tossed his belt. What a pussy.
This is zoomed in footage so it's a little blurry, but Lance Lynn was ejected when you see him walk in the dugout placing his hat and glove down for the ump to check, then he throws his belt out of the dugout toward the ump. 🤣 #MakeItMajor pic.twitter.com/7gnX9lWdfj

Lance Lynn was ejected after apparently throwing his belt at an ump during a foreign substance check in tonight's game against the A's.

Lance Lynn on why he was thrown out of the game:
"He yells at me that he needs to see my belt, so I toss it up and he throws me out... Obviously, I hurt his feelings." pic.twitter.com/rue6MKpa8M

Guess what? They know you're checking hats, gloves and belts so they're not putting the shit there anymore. You can't eject a dude because he didn't formally present you with his belt.
