Shakira and Her Soccer Star Partner Gerard Pique Confirm Split

Rumors that there was trouble in paradise for Shakira and her partner Gerard Pique were confirmed on Saturday morning.  The singer and soccer star released a statement asking for privacy.

The statement didn't get into the details of the split which were said to be because of alleged cheating on the part of Pique.

Gerard Piqué and Shakira have announced their separation in a joint statement:

It's a sad day for love and for hips that don't lie.  Pour one out for Shakira.  I'm sure she'll bounce back, I mean, she's still Shakira.
