Rutgers freshman wide receiver Carnell Davis was knocked out cold during a street fight in New Jersey.  Video of the quick fight that put Davis in the hospital surfaced on social media on Tuesday.

Davis can be heard confronting an unknown man about comments the man apparently made about his mother.  The man then shoves Davis and the two square up.

A right hand by the man drops Davis.  The football player then appears to hit his head on the pavement.  According to the school, Davis is home and recovering with his family.

From 247Sports:

"Apparently there were some words exchanged between Carnell and some other older guy," Ford said in the post, which 247Sports has edited here for clarity due to typos. "The guy provoked Carnell by saying sexual harassment things to Carnell about his mom. Carnell obviously questioned him on it. The guy initiated the first move hands on with a shove. Carnell responded by defending himself with hands up. The guy throws one punch and knocks Carnell flat out, smashing his head on the pavement. He ended up in the hospital, in a coma, last night with a fractured skull and bleeding of the brain."

It's good to hear that Davis is recovering and hopefully he's able to return to school and football without issue.  Let's hope he learned something from this entire thing.

Like make sure you don't have a one punch chin if you're going to be confronting anyone about what they said about your mom.  If you do, maybe let the comments go.  It's not worth the trouble.
