It was reported on Friday that Patriots quarterback Cam Newton had injured his throwing hand during practice when he hit it on a teammate's helmet. The injury was reported by several media members and described as minor.
#Patriots QB Cam Newton suffered a slight bone bruise today at practice, banging his hand on a helmet, source said. Not considered major at all, but since it’s the Spring, we may not see much more of him until training camp.

Someone responded to the initial report and claimed that Newton had actually hurt his hand on Wednesday during a fight with his brother. The person didn't have many details but claimed that the fight took place at Mastros.
Did anyone see this?

There isn't any proof that Newton was involved in a fight with his brother on Wednesday, but as members of the media are realizing, there isn't any proof that he hit his hand on a helmet either.
The lack of video, or anyone who was in attendance, saying they saw Newton hit his hand at practice is leading to speculation that something is being covered up. Add that to reports that he is expected to miss a lot of time with his minor bone bruise and questions are starting to be asked.
I wouldn't put covering up how Newton hurt his hand past the Patriots. It is within the boundaries of the Patriot way.
