It was rumored over the weekend that Rockets star Russell Westbrook might have tested positive for COVID-19. He was one of the few players who hasn't reported to the NBA's Disney Bubble, but is expected to do so.
On Monday it was confirmed. Westbrook revealed that he had tested positive for COVID-19. As you might have guessed, he is kicking the shit out of the virus.
From TMZ Sports:
"Please take this virus seriously," Westbrook said. "Be safe."
The Houston Rockets guard says he's "feeling well" after his diagnosis ... but he's currently under quarantine and has yet to join his teammates in the NBA bubble down in Orlando.
Russ says he tested positive prior to the Rockets taking off for the NBA's restart ... but he adds he's hopeful to join his squadmates shortly.
"Thank you all for the well wishes and continued support," Westbrook said Monday.
Westbrook is a young healthy athlete so he'll be just fine. The fact that he got the virus before entering the bubble will probably work in Houston's favor. He'll be recovered and ready to go when the playoffs roll around and James Harden disappears.
