The Raiders first two first-round picks following their move to Las Vegas are no longer on the roster. Henry Ruggs III was released last week after he was involved in a DUI car crash that killed a woman.
On Monday cornerback Damon Arnette joined him on the former Raiders list. His release came after a video surfaced over the weekend showing him waving a gun around and threatening to kill someone who slid into his DMs.
From Larry Brown Sports:
Las Vegas Raiders cornerback Damon Arnette has generated some negative headlines over the past week, and the team is moving on from the former first-round pick.
The Raiders informed Arnette on Monday that they are cutting him, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. The move comes days after Arnette went on Instagram live and threatened to kill someone while waving multiple guns around.
It's a little unfair to place the blame on the city of Las Vegas, but the franchise certainly isn't off to a good start in Sin City. Hopefully this is a wake up call and not the beginning of some sort of downward spiral.
