On Tuesday speculation that the New Orleans Saints would reach out to semi-retired quarterback Philip Rivers began to circulate. They of course lost Jameis Winston for the season to a knee injury.
With Taysom Hill and Ian Book both inactive on Sunday, Trevor Siemian got the call. Is he going to be the answer moving forward? It's hard to believe.
This combined with the fact that the high school team Rivers is coaching missed the playoffs led to speculation that the Saints might give him a call.

According to Rivers, no such call has been made yet. If a call was made, he would listen.
Philip Rivers tells me he hasn’t heard from the Saints but would listen.

Why not make the call? The Saints have plenty of experience with former Chargers quarterbacks that can't throw the ball down the field.
