NBC Sports' Peter King isn't a fan of competitive eating. He makes sure we all know that annually when we sit down and enjoy the hot dog eating contest.
According to King, competitive eating is not a sport, it's a sin.
He can't wrap his mind around the fact that ESPN airs the "gluttonous, vomitous and grotesque event" on our country's birthday.
Never have. Never will.
Not the point.
The fact is, ESPN celebrates the birthday of our country by airing a gluttonous, vomitous and grotesque event.

There's so much to love about Peter King hating competitive eating. On the top of the list is the fact that he makes a living off football.
Now I don't have a problem with the game, I love football.
But there are some who think putting your brain in harm's way for a paycheck is dangerous and those who profit off of that without putting their own brains on the line are immoral.
I would never develop such views. I'm a much more simple thinker than that.
Eat a disgusting amount of food and beat your brains in, I'm down with all of it.
