There's been a conspiracy, probably as old as the NFL, even before the NFL existed, that professional sports are rigged entertainment, like the WWE.
Mobsters went down for rigging baseball games back in the 1910s, and those are just the ones who got caught, or who went down for it publicly.
The titans of industry who own the teams have vested interest in the outcomes of the games, they have money, power and deep rooted relationships with the media, the gambling industry and brand sponsorships. It would only make sense that they set things up in their favor as a collective, to keep the sports entertainment industry that makes a lot of people a lot of money going.
The fact is, pro sports are way bigger business than they were back then, so the scam would theoretically get more sophisticated, you know if you were a conspiracy theorist, which plenty of people are.
I've seen many videos taken out of context from a variety of sports people, basically calling the NFL scripted. Sure, you'd have to have a lot of people in on the script and someone would seemingly leak the story, but at the same time, they get paid stupid money to keep their mouths shut.
I like to believe that the athletes have integrity and wouldn't throw a game, but maybe most do and only a handful are in on the scheme.
Either way, Trevor Lawrence, the QB for the Jacksonville Jaguars was quoted saying they couldn't have scripted it better.
My interpretation is that if they were to scrip the game, it wouldn't have been as good as the unscripted game people just witnessed.
Other people are more literal, saying he's praising the script for being so good.
