Panthers GM Scott Fitterer Said With a Straight Face That Sam Darnold is the Current Leader for Starting Job

On Friday Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer gave fans an update on the team's current quarterback situation.  In short, get ready for another lost season with terrible quarterback play for most of it.

The longer version is that despite a very active quarterback market this offseason, and other starting caliber quarterbacks being available, Sam Darnold is the current leader for the starting job.

Don't worry, it gets better.  The door is still open for Cam Newton to return for another season.

In other words try the same thing and expect a different result.  That or they know what they're doing isn't going to work and they're doing it anyway.  Slightly worse in my book.

I hate the new quarterback every season approach that the Panthers have taken the past couple of years as much as the next guy.  But the fact that they haven't done anything this offseason is hard for me to wrap my head around.

Go get Baker or hell even Jimmy G, either one is a better option than Sam Darnold.  He's complete garbage.  The other two are only partial garbage.
