Alex is going viral because the toxic men of the world have this innate ability to check out babes and appreciate their level of hotness when stripped down into their sport's uniform, especially when the sport's uniform is a swimsuit.

This is precisely what people complain about, that an Olympian is still being reduced to her sex appeal and still going viral because people like what she looks like thanks to her hard training.

Rather than her going viral for her level of athleticism, which we can argue is being celebrated because we'd have no idea who she was if she wasn't an Olympic caliber swimmer.

So celebrating her hot pics that she produces is also celebrating that she's an Olympian.
