Now that the drama surrounding Kyler Murray and the Cardinals, at least as far as a trade is involved, has died down it's time for him to get paid. He wants that payday before the season starts.
It's yet to be seen as to whether or not Murray will land that deal prior to the season, but NFL executives expect him to eventually get paid. They put that deal in the same range of Raiders quarterback Derek Carr.
Carr received a $121.4 million extension over three years. Murray's could be a little more per year, but it's expected to be in that range.
From ESPN:
The expectation leaguewide is Murray won’t be too eager to play this season without a new deal. Many NFL execs consider Murray in the same QB pantheon as the Raiders’ Derek Carr, who recently got a $121.4 million extension over three years. Perhaps Murray can get slightly more per year due to age (24 to Carr’s 31) and a higher ceiling.
Pay this man now! He deserves to get paid a lot of money to play inconsistent football in Arizona. That's just how they do things in the desert.
