NFL Executive Thinks the Colts Will Be Looking for Another QB After a Year of Matt Ryan

The Colts didn't give Carson Wentz a second season to improve on his performance last season.  They weren't happy with how the season ended and shipped him off to Washington.

They then went out and traded for 37-year-old Matt Ryan.  They're expecting a big upgrade over Wentz, but one unnamed NFL executive thinks the Colts are going to be disappointed and looking for another quarterback next season.

From Larry Brown Sports:

“I think age has caught Matt Ryan,” the exec said. “I had him with a big decline last year. Matt has had a phenomenal career, a great quarterback, but it wasn’t like he was super big athletic or had a super strong arm. I see the skills declining a little bit quicker for him as a result. I think they could be looking at another quarterback in a year, and if they don’t win, look out for (Jim) Irsay.”

As long as the Colts don't take a big lead into the second half of a Super Bowl then they'll be fine.  They shouldn't have to worry about that with an ancient Matt Ryan at quarterback.

Will Ryan play better than Wentz?  Probably, but isn't the point to win a ring?  I don't see that happening.
