The ski season is just getting started and people may not be as into skiing as they should be, because it's one of those niche rich person sports that people seem to only watch on Olympic years, but the USA team has a star in the form of Mikaela Shiffrin!

Born in Colorado to ski enthusiast parents, raised between Colorado, New Hampshire and Burke Mountain Academy in Vermont, the skier made her World Cup debut in 2011.

She has won 8 Olympic golds, 3 silvers and 3 bronze, but more interestingly, she's won 74 World Cup events, came in silver in 22 World Cup events and bronze in 24 World Cup events.

She's pretty legit!

Well, Lindsey Vonn, who has a lot of hype around her as the biggest, most important name in skiing, who retired at 34 years old, has a near record of 82 career Wold Cup wins in her career.

Shiffrin has 74 career wins and is 7 years younger than Vonn when she retired, so she'll likely SMOKE Vonn's record, but it could happen as soon as this year, since she will be in 42 World Cup Events according to the Alpine Ski Schedule, all she needs to do is win 9 of them1

She posted her dry land training video getting ready for the season:

Here she is in action:
