At only 25 Mikaela Shiffrin is now the most decorated American skiier in World Championship history.  On Monday she won a gold medal in the super combined to pass Lindsey Vonn with her ninth career world medal.

From Bro Bible:

Mikaela Shiffrin is officially the most decorated American in Alpine World Ski Championships history. The 25-year-old won the super combined on Monday to break two records. Her gold medal passed Ted Ligety for a record sixth world title and gave her a combined nine career world medals to pass Lindsey Vonn.

Shiffrin has four gold medals in slalom and one in super-G from previous worlds, but this is her first combined first-place finish. She had never competed in the event before this year.

Next stop, topping Vonn's Instagram game!  I don't know if that's a goal of Shiffrin's, I highly doubt it, but I would love to see it happen.  She certainly has the potential to top Vonn's social media success.

There's not much Vonn can do to slow Shiffrin down on the slopes, but she can put up a fight on social media.
