Michelle Jenneke still matters!
In the event you don't remember, she went viral during the 2012 World Junior Championships in Athletics, where a video of her unique pre-race warmup routine gained widespread attention and opened tons of doors fo her.
In the video, she performed an energetic, smiling dance while preparing for her hurdles event, which contrasted sharply with the typically seriousness of the competitors. She literally had a million dollar and multi-million view generating smile.
In more recent days, the Australian hurdler, sustained a fully ruptured hamstring tendon during her heat in the women's 100m hurdles at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The injury happened when she felt a "pop" in her leg as she approached the third hurdle, causing her to lose power and fall. Despite the severity of her injury, Jenneke showed remarkable determination by completing the race to qualify for the repechage round, that's some boss moves.
She competed the next day despite the ruptured tendon and lost, but seriously veteran commitments to her sport.
She is back to training, posted a new viral video that isn't as fun as the first one, but that is still entertaining!
