Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford wants out of Detroit. This according to CBS Sports' Boomer Esiason, who said that he's hearing that Stafford wants out.
Stafford, a former No. 1 overall pick by the Lions, has two more years left on his current deal.
Nobody would blame Stafford for wanting out. His entire career has been wasted by the Lions and their consistent mismanagement.
New head coach Dan Campbell addressed Stafford's future with the team and seemed to admit that moving on from Stafford was a possibility.
"I’m gonna have to sit down with Brad Holmes, but here’s what I’ll say: Matthew is a stud. He’s one of the toughest QBs you’ll ever see. He’s extremely talented, a team guy, and I know he wants to win. So I’ll leave it at that," Campbell told reporters.
Stafford wouldn't have any problems finding a new team. There are plenty of teams who would take him over their current quarterback situations.
