The standoff between Aaron Rodgers and the Packers hasn't shown any signs of easing up. That doesn't mean that head coach Matt LaFleur isn't hoping his veteran quarterback will walk through the door soon.
On Wednesday LaFleur addressed next week's mandatory veteran minicamp and whether or not he thought Rodgers would be in attendance. He doesn't know, but he's hopeful that Rodgers will report.
From Packers News:
That’s because June 8 marks the start of mandatory veteran minicamp, the first session of the offseason program with required attendance. While, in theory, Rodgers must show up for the three-day camp, head coach Matt LaFleur said Wednesday he doesn’t know if Rodgers will.
“It's important that we have all our guys and certainly we'd love him to be here and hopefully we'll see him Tuesday,” LaFleur said.
I wouldn't count on it if I was LaFleur. We'll all soon find out just how serious Rodgers is about wanting out of Green Bay. My bet is he skips the minicamp to hangout with his fiancee.
You really hate to see it. Unless you hate the Packers like I do.
