As if getting beat down 51-14 wasn't bad enough, Maryland lost wide receiver Dontay Demus Jr. for the rest of the season to a gruesome knee injury.
Demus was trying to break free of a tackle when his leg got overextended and his knee bent backwards.
Hopefully he avoided an damage to the artery that runs through the leg, but it didn't look good. He was seen saying "I'm coming back" as he was carted off the field. Let's hope that's true.
Not a pretty injury for Dontay Demus who’s had a great start to the season. pic.twitter.com/s4khUcV2Tr

It's been a little while since we've seen one of these and honestly it's one of the worst injuries you can suffer on a football field.
Depending on the extent of the injury you are at risk of losing your leg and playing football again is often out of the cards. Let's hope Demus' injury is one he's able to comeback from.
