Mikal Smith, the son of Illinois head coach Lovie Smith, has been arrested after a grand jury indicted him in connection with an alleged prostitution ring in Arizona.  The 43-year-old is facing numerous charges relating to sex trafficking and prostitution.

Mikal served as an assistant coach under his father in the NFL from 2009 to 2015 in Chicago and Tampa Bay.  He was booked into Gilbert Chandler Jail and is being held on a $100,000 bond.

From 12 News:

According to court docs, Mikal Smith is facing charges of sex trafficking, pandering, receiving earnings from a prostitute, money laundering, conspiracy and illegal control of enterprise.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said Smith is allegedly connected to a prostitution ring in Arizona.

What a year.  Anything and everything you could possibly think of is going down.  There's a global pandemic followed by social unrest followed by a College Football head coach's son being accused of being a pimp.

I'll give it 2020, it has some range.
