COLLEGE
Tex Hollywood - October 18, 2023
Livvy Dunne is marketed as the new face of the NIL, which could be argued that she's also the new body of the NIL, which to the discerning sports analyst, is most likely representative of the "Kim Kardashian" led eco-system of social media, rather than one based on merit or skill.
That's not to say that the college athlete is less deserving of brand partnerships than others, or that she's not a top tier athlete, but she doesn't have any Olympic medals, so I'd argue that she missed the real elite gymnastics you'd expect.
It's just to say that sports ability isn't what the people care about, follower-count is, and thanks to good agents leveraging her, she's very high paid.
Now, Sports Illustrated, who I am sure are also trying to maintain their relevance in this era, while not getting cancelled for using fat models, are hoping on the LIVVY TRAIN, not quite the train you'd want to watch, but a train nevertheless, and they are offering you a chance to watch her train on the beam.
The Sports Illustrated brand sells the dream to the girls who want to be models, and once they take on the unpaid marketing initiative, they promote the magazine for free in efforts to get that high from being invited back as a model.
Here is Livvy doing some gymnastics, since she's a gymnast!
@livvy Just some bar work:) #foryou #lsu #gymnastics ♬ greedy tate mcrae unreleased - babytatie1
