Lindsay Brewer is in the INDY NXT circuit, which is basically a developmental series that feeds into IndyCar, sanctioned by IndyCar, sponsored by Firestone.
Their first race of the season was in St Pete's Florida, and Lindsay Brewer placed 15th, which wasn't last place but those who did come in after her probably felt pretty emasculated by a woman driver.
Apparently, IndyCar is having a revival, because this was the best attendance this race has had in years, or they are trying to have a revival because they want more people in seats at their races.
There's clearly an interest in car racing, with all the success of the F1 around the world, but IndyCar hasn't quite been able to capture the hearts of the masses in a long time.
Previous F1 racers who are no IndyCar racers seem to think Indy is more fun than F1 because the way the races are set-up leave room for 10-15 potential winners, where F1 is always the same players.
The issue is that Indy races aren't star studded, high society prestigious events, but once they get their marketing sorted out, they definitely will be.
I know that having Lindsay Brewer, who is arguably the best looking race car driver ever, working towards the IndyCar circuit in the next year or two is great for business!
