Kansas head football coach Les Miles reportedly reached a secret settlement with an LSU student who accused him of sexual harassment while he was the head coach at LSU.
The nearly decade old settlement has surfaced during an investigation of LSU's handling of sexual harassment.
According to The Advocate, Miles reached the settlement with a former LSU student intern after she accused him of "hitting on her."
Former LSU head football coach Les Miles reached a settlement with a former student who accused him of harassment several years ago, and the settlement has surfaced as investigators probe the university’s handling of sexual misconduct and domestic violence complaints, multiple sources with direct knowledge of the situation have confirmed to The Advocate | The Times-Picayune.
The episode goes back about a decade, when a former LSU Athletic Department student intern accused Miles of “hitting on her,” three of the sources said.
Uncovering secret settlements is a pretty good indicator that the investigation is leaving no stone unturned. It's also a pretty good indicator that the investigation was warranted. Secret settlements aren't taking place if there's nothing to see.
As if a 3-18 record wasn't reason enough to part ways with Miles, Kansas probably doesn't want a secret sexual harassment settlement guy coaching their football team.
