Houston lawyer Tony Buzbee held a press conference on Friday. He said during that press conference that the number of women making sexual assault claims against Deshaun Watson is now as many as 22.
Buzbee's office is formerly representing 12 of the more than 22 women who are accusing the Texans quarterback of sexual assault. He also revealed that the claims have now grabbed the attention of the Houston Police Department and that they have reached out to him about those claims.
In other words this isn't going away anytime soon and Watson suddenly has a full blown catastrophe on his hands.
From TMZ Sports:
"We are now representing 12 women and we will file 5 more cases in due course. We have spoken to more than 10 additional women, 22 women," Buzbee said.
Buzbee says the women he represents come from different racial backgrounds -- 7 of them are Black, 2 Hispanic and 3 are Caucasian.
Buzbee says he's been contacted by the Houston Police Dept. -- which is now looking into the allegations.
Buzbee also shot down conspiracy theories that the Houston Texans were driving the lawsuits as a result of a standoff between Watson and Texans ownership. Buzbee says he lives near the family that owns the Texans but does not know them personally.
