NBA MVP Kevin Durant signed a Four Year Extension last year with the Brooklyn Nets, but he made it clear that he wanted to leave the team and requested a trade! This sparked a bunch of rumors about where he would be going and speculation as to why he wanted out.
After he requested the trade, the Nets held firm and retained a high asking price, making it hard to find a fitting trade and as of today, both the Nets and Durant are going to move forward together, maybe not forever, but for the foreseeable future.
The Nets released this statement:
“Steve Nash and I, together with Joe Tsai and Clara Wu Tsai, met with Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman in Los Angeles yesterday. We have agreed to move forward with our partnership. We are focusing on basketball, with one collective goal in mind: build a long lasting franchise to bring a championship to Brooklyn. “
Big news, but not very exciting news!
