Pepsi is kicking off the 2024 NFL season with a bang, blending sports, music, and ancient history into one epic campaign that feels larger-than-life. In celebration of both the start of football season and the upcoming release of Gladiator II, Pepsi is unleashing their “Make Your Gameday Epic” campaign.

If you watch TV at all, you have probably already seen this new commercial about 60 times. But if you haven't here is it is!

The campaign is a 3-minute video that features Megan Thee Stallion, NFL superstars Josh Allen, Derrick Henry, Justin Jefferson, and Travis Kelce, all set in a colosseum-turned-football stadium. Megan brings her signature heat by rapping a fresh version of Queen’s iconic anthem, “We Will Rock You,” while the NFL stars take on their gladiator roles.

The video takes viewers through a surreal transformation from a gladiator-style battlefield to the electric energy of a football stadium, perfectly capturing the spirit of both the NFL season and the upcoming Gladiator II movie, which hits theaters on November 22.

One of the more playful aspects of the campaign is a wink at a viral TikTok meme that blew up last year, asking how often men think about the Roman Empire (answer: a lot more than you’d think). Pepsi leans into that meme with this gladiator-themed spot, reminding us that sometimes, even in 2024, the Roman Empire is still very much on our minds!
