Tex Hollywood - December 29, 2022

John Cena is going back to his WWE roots tomorrow, despite being a hugely famous actor now.

I don't know whether Cena is officially trying to follow the Rock's footsteps and eventually replace him as the biggest action star in Hollywood, but I could slide into his DMs since Egotastic's twitter is one of the accounts he followed in his recent mass following of "journalists".

Cena, who at 45, has been acting for at least 15 years, his first movie being a WWE produced movie called The Marine back in 2006, followed by a bunch of other movies, with at least 8 movies that are still not released. You could also argue that he has been acting even longer, since the WWE is mainly high impact scripted entertainment.

Most recently, his Suicide Squad character Peacemaker landed a TV Series on HBOMAX that was a hit, however James Gunn apparently mentioned a possible recasting of the show for future seasons because he wants to recast the Suicide Squad. People are saying it is his attempts to reconfigure or revamp the DC universe with moves that included replacing Henry Cavil as Superman.

John Cena still refers to himself as the Peacemaker, so maybe the plans are bigger for the star, like a stand-alone movie.

In the meantime you can see him at Tomorrow's WWE Smackdown where he hops in the ring for an end of year comeback tag-team wrestle with Kevin Owen against Roman Reigns

Here he is accepting the challenge:

Here's WWE official John Cena Hype video for the match.
