Jimmy Garoppolo’s Agent Responds to Buccaneers Trade Rumors

It seemed at some point the Carolina Panthers were going to pull the trigger on a trade for Baker Mayfield or Jimmy Garoppolo.  They, of course, did so with a trade for Mayfield last week.

That leaves Jimmy G's status up in the air.  The San Francisco 49ers appear ready to hand over the team to Trey Lance.  That might not happen if they can't move Jimmy G.

Rumors about a possible landing spot surfaced and had the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a possible destination.  There we would find himself in a familiar role, Tom Brady's backup.

Garoppolo's agent Don Yee was asked about the rumors and denied there have been trade talks with Tampa Bay...

It's wild to me that Jimmy G could go from NFC Championship to Lance's backup.  Does he put up huge numbers?  No.  Does he win games?  That's all he does.
