News started leaking out of the NBA's Disney Bubble that Rockets forward Danuel House didn't miss Game 3 for personal reasons. Those leaks were confirmed when it was revealed that he would miss Game 4 and was being investigated by the NBA for a possible violation of the bubble protocol.
Details from the investigation have made things even more murky. From what has come out a female did enter the Rockets team hotel on Monday night and didn't leave until Tuesday morning. Although House and Tyson Chandler have been implicated by the league, the female never named House.
According to new details from the investigation, the female, believed to be a COVID-19 tester, said she had contact with Chandler and another player, not named House. This has many speculating that House, who has denied having the woman in his room, is being used as a fall guy for a Rockets star.
From The Athletic:
A female entered the Rockets’ team hotel on Monday night, passing multiple security checkpoints before being flagged for her entry, sources said. She exited the hotel in the early hours of Tuesday morning, and the league cited early data points that implicated two members of the Rockets, House and Tyson Chandler, sources said. When the female was questioned by NBA security, she did not implicate House’s name and it is uncertain whether she remains on campus, sources said. She claimed to have contact with Chandler and another player, not named House, according to sources.
According to sources, the Rockets’ entire team had to enter a quarantine period on Tuesday due to the potential exposure. Those sources said there appears to be no video connecting House and the female; only the flagging of her entering and leaving the hotel, and the possibility of a door opening and closing to match those timelines. The NBA has informed involved parties that it has circumstantial evidence implicating House.
Given a certain Rockets star's history with the ladies, it would be very easy to speculate that they're the player being protected. This is fucking great. The fact that everyone knew that NBA players would do this and it happened is the best.
If that unnamed player is a star then don't expect their name to come out until after the Lakers series.
