Vermont Rugby Player Ilona Maher went officially viral these Olympics due to her relatable, likeable personality and comedic content. Clearly, she's a voice of the times and people love her.
She amassed over 3.8 million followers, but was already pretty followed at the start of the Olympics because of her content creation!
She was recently featured in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, because she is a female athlete, so strip her down! Not to mention, a trending female athlete, so leverage her audience for your advertisers!
It has gone viral, but is also a nice change of pace for the Sports Illustrated brand who went through a series of non-sports related women and non bikini model women in bikinis, which didn't make much sense!
If they aren't posting models, WAGS or athletes in bikinis, but other randoms, it seems a little off-brand! So it's nice to see them mooching off someone's relevance in style!
This is clearly an exciting time for the Olympic medal winner!
