Gerrit Cole Emphatically Denies Using Spider Tack

Just kidding...he said this.

Gerrit Cole's spin rate recently dropped after Major League Baseball announced it would be cracking down on pitchers using illegal substances.  Spider Tack is a sticky substance that would probably fall into the illegal substances category.

Coincidence?  Not likely.  Cole dancing around the question is very telling.  He obviously didn't want to say yes and open himself up to a suspension.  If he said no and it later came out that he did use it the media and fans would drag him all over the internet.

What do you expect from a guy who played for the Astros?  Their hitters knew what pitches were coming and their pitchers are using illegal substances to help spin rate.  I wonder who that older player is that passed down the knowledge to Cole?

Hmm...Justin Verlander's career seemed to get back on track once he left Detroit.  Is he the vet or did he also come in contact with the mystery Spider Tack guy?

So many questions.  One major question I have is, can the Yankees void his insane contract now that it has been revealed he isn't who they thought he was?
