Freddie Freeman won a World Series with the Atlanta Braves last year then split for the Los Angeles Dodgers during the offseason. He signed a 6-year, $162 million deal to make a strong Dodgers lineup even stronger.
Would Freeman have returned to Atlanta if given the opportunity? The answer is apparently yes. After visiting Atlanta this weekend and receiving his ring he fired his agent.
According to Doug Gottlieb, Freeman's agent never told him about the Braves final offer because he knew he would return to Atlanta.
Casey Close never told Freddie Freeman about the Braves final offer, that is why Freeman fired him. He found out in Atlanta this weekend. It isn’t that rare to have happen in MLB, but it happened - Close knew Freddie would have taken the ATL deal

I couldn't imagine having someone I trusted pull a move like this.
