Former NFL cornerback Captain Munnerlyn, who spent 7 of his 10 seasons with the Carolina Panthers, was arrested on January 10th in North Carolina. He allegedly assaulted and strangled a woman a few days before the arrest.
From Panthers Wire:
The accusations stem from an incident that took place on Jan. 3, in which the alleged victim claims she was strangled and kicked in the face by Munnerlyn. Her account also alleges she had bruises, scratches and difficulty breathing following the encounter.
Munnerlyn, who was charged with assaulting a female and assault by strangulation, had been released from custody after posting $7,500 bond. He’s due back in the Mecklenburg County courthouse on March 1.
Add this arrest to his prior arrest for writing bad checks and it doesn't sound like Munnerlyn's retirement is going well. Hopefully he figures things out because he's headed down a path that doesn't usually end well.
