Former Kentucky guard Terrence Clarke was killed in a car accident on Thursday afternoon in Los Angeles.  The 19-year-old NBA Draft prospect reportedly ran a red light at a high rate of speed and hit another vehicle.

Clarke's Kentucky teammate BJ Boston was in the vehicle behind his at the time of the accident.  To make matters worse Clarke wasn't properly wearing his seatbelt.

From WKYT:

Sources tell us the NBA Draft prospect was killed in a crash after reportedly working out with BJ Boston. We have also confirmed that with the Valley Traffic Division of Los Angeles Police.

The sergeant tells us the accident happened at 2:10 PT on Winnetka Avenue.

LAPD says Clarke was traveling at a high rate of speed when he ran a red light, hit another car turning left, and continued on to then hit a pole and block wall. Police say Clarke was not wearing his seatbelt properly.

This is tragic for so many reasons.  The bright future erased by an avoidable situation has to be hard for his family and friends....
