Former Dallas Cowboys running back Marion Barber was found dead in his apartment on Wednesday. He was 38-years-old.
Police reportedly performed a welfare check on Barber after a call about a water leak coming from his apartment.
According to a source, police responded to a welfare check at Barber’s apartment because someone had called about a water leak coming from his apartment. Police forced their way in.
“Frisco Police responded to a welfare concern at an apartment believed to be leased by Marion Barber,” police spokesperson Joshua Lovell said. “Frisco Police along with the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating an unattended death at the location.”
The cause of death isn't known at this time. The NFL sent out a tweet mourning the loss of the former running back.

Barber spent six of his seven NFL seasons with the Cowboys racking up 4358 yards on the ground and finding the end zone 47 times. He finished his career in Chicago back in 2011.
Barber had a couple of run-ins with the law in recent years. RIP 38 is way too young.
