Former Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas died last year at the age of 33.  He was found unresponsive in the shower.

His family had his brain studied by the Boston University Brain Bank and he was found to have Stage 2 CTE at the time of his death.

His parents Bobby Thomas and Katina Stuckey Smith spoke about the CTE finding and the seizures he suffered from that were caused by a car accident and a fall down stone stairs.

You hate to hear about the affects of playing football on the human body.  But the fact of the matter is everyone is aware of the risks of playing the game.

While it's hard for some people to understand, the risk is worth it for some and the paychecks for being an NFL player can be life changing.

Thomas might have had CTE from his 10 years in the league plus the many years leading up to that, but it was the seizures that took his life so soon.
