This is pretty funny, since everyone who went to High School knows that Women's Basketball is its own sport that may look and feel like basketball, and while the rules may be the same as basketball, but the actual games are far different.
That's not a bad thing, it's a different thing and different is good in this time of diversity and inclusivity.
What is a bad thing in this time of diversity and inclusion is when you make a comment that is usually out of context about something, whether as a joke, or just totally misquoted and it develops a life of its own, especially when it's sexist, because women are people too.
An ESPN reporter is learning his lesson the hard way, thanks to calling men's basketball "Actual Basketball" after covering Women's basketball.
You can watch the clip, but basically he was reporting on women's basketball and when he cut back to men's basketball he said "now back to actual basketball".
I don't think that's the best way to celebrate the different in the men vs women playing the sport, so maybe getting dragged for that slip-up is deserved.
It's definitely an amateur move at best in this era, even I know that!
no way he said this on national television 😭 pic.twitter.com/23YiWeqDcX
