Conor McGregor predicted a second-round knockout against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 on Saturday night. He just didn't think he would be the one getting knocked out.
Poirier, who was an underdog entering the fight, stopped McGregor for the first time in his career by knockout. McGregor got tagged with a big lefthand and it was all down hill from there.

Nothing feels as good as exacting a little revenge. Poirier's knockout of McGregor was the perfect way to even things up with the popular Irishman.
Poirier has positioned himself nicely for a shot at the lightweight title. As for McGregor, once he hits the smelling salts for a few days, he needs to regroup and get back to fighting on a regular basis.
McGregor needs badly to string a few wins together.
